There was everything from photography packages, dresses, cakes, bouquets and little bits and bobs there. I was looking more at the little bits and bobs and things that we can take abroad with us. I ended up buying some clear crystal gems for our reception tables as it was cheaper to take our own. They were lovely and sparkly and with the sun in Cyprus I can really imagine them sparkling and shining in the sunlight, so I picked up four packets of those for £1 each and the lovely lady (forgive me I'm not sure what company she was from) gave us another bag for free. Table gems are available everywhere but these really caught my eye seeing them in person.
The reason for this post is because I did pick up a few leaflets and business cards for those companies that really caught my eye and so I thought I'd share them with you just in case you are struggling to find what you are looking for with your wedding or know someone who is getting married and looking for what I'm about to show you.
Mosaic Photo
This is a company that will take a collection of your favourite photos and turn them into an amazing, unique mosaic.
This was one of my favourite stalls at the fair. It was set up beautifully and everything was catching my eye from their cute little teacups and milk bottles with straws to their vintage looking typewriter. The company offers various services such as vintage china and glassware hire, afternoon tea, cup cakes and wedding cakes, a styling service and even hen parties with a twist.
They hire out cups & saucers, tea plates, china platters and cake stands amongst many more items, which you can see here. They are also able to take requests if you can't see what you're looking for. They are also able to take all the stress away from you for any special occasion by decorating your venue, home or garden for you. You can read more about that here, but they have items such as lace bunting, vintage suitcases, a photo booth, props and even a vintage sweet cart. They can provide personalised favours, which include home-made jams, sweets, seed packets, home-made cookies and cupcakes. They can make cupcakes with edible lace, brooches and pearls, which I think is fab and will really set off a vintage theme for any occasion. I also love that they provide hen parties with a twist if you don't fancy what seems to be the usual going out on the town and drinking. They offer cupcake decorating, flower arranging, garter and corsage making and much more, they say to just get in touch to discuss what you're looking for! There's loads more info on the website, including prices, a gallery and testimonials so be sure to check it out for inspiration :).
One thing that I really want to mention is that they have an alternative to a guest book idea, where it's a guest book quilt! Basically you tell them your colour scheme, they send you pre-cut squares of material, on your wedding day your guests sign them, you send them back and a few weeks later they'll send you a beautifully finished quilt containing all your lovely guests messages and wishes from your wedding day. I love this idea - it's definitely unique and the pictures I've seen of examples look lovely.
This company specialises in floral topiary trees and bespoke bouquets. They have plenty of topiary trees in their portfolio for you to look at and they do bespoke orders so all you have to do is get in touch and discuss your ideas with them. Their vintage bouquets are what stand out to me the most though. If you are all for 'unique' and 'different' with your wedding and of course love vintage, you will most definitely love their range of bouquets.
Again they have plenty of examples to look at on their website and their Etsy shop, but get in touch if you are looking for something more specific or special to you.
When I went to the vintage wedding fair I already had my wedding dress, but this company offers a bespoke service to create your perfect garment. The item that you want doesn't have to be wedding related, but at the fair Abi who makes all the lovely garments herself was showcasing some of the dresses she'd made in person and via a catalogue that she had put together of some of her sketches.
On the company Facebook page, there are lots of pictures of garments that she has made, including wedding dresses. She can also make bridesmaid dresses and bridal head-wear such as tiaras and veils. What I love is the idea of something sentimental being used, for example, you could have your wedding dress made how you like but have something from your mother's wedding dress incorporated into the design. I love the idea of this. You can contact Abi on her Facebook page for a no obligation initial consultation and just have an informal chat to go over what it is that you are looking for, colour ideas, material ideas, period ideas etc. If you have the budget, I think something like this is amazing as you know your garment will be totally distinctive and quirky and there will be nothing like it anywhere else.
This is the only wedding fair I've been to. I think if we were getting married here in the UK or having a reception back here then I probably would have gone to a lot more as I would have wanted more inspiration for suppliers back here, but with our wedding being abroad, the majority of things are being organised out there, so apart from a few bits and bobs that we're taking with us, we don't really have to sort out too much here. I did want to share these suppliers with you though as I've said before it can be really overwhelming organising a wedding and I think it helps when people share any advice, ideas, websites etc that they've come across and try and help others where possible when organising something as big as a wedding!
If I come across anything else, I'll be sure to let you know!
Have you been to any wedding or vintage fairs? Which suppliers would you recommend?
Thanks so much for reading!
